JULIA NUNES >8D

Ellie and I had a fairly interesting time in London today. Decided, just for the sheer fun of it, to get lost in Harrod's and Hamley's and Regent St, so we did.

We went in the Apple Store. It was awesome. <3
(ohmygodIlovethenewnanos)

We DID manage to navigate around successfully, which surprised me as it was the first time I'd ever really been to London without someone at least two years older than me accompanying me =P
We even managed to work around the fact that the Jubilee line wasn't working. Muahaha.

That is, until we needed to be at Julia Nunes's show at 3, and got there at like 10 past because Ellie forgot to bring her map of Aldgate, and I didn't bring one cos I thought Ellie was. XDD

We did see her play five songs, though. Build Me Up, Buttercup was one of them... also another song that she did a cover of that I don't remember... Alive With The Glory of Love *just looked it up*
Then she played three of her own songs... Maybe I Will, Into the Sunshine, and Happy Medium, if I recall correctly.

On ukulele (the buttercup one, Maybe I Will) and guitar (the other three) <3

It was fun. It was in this tiny shop, the Duke of Uke, with only like 20 people there or something, and it was super-crowded. It was so cool, though -- she's so nice! I got a (blurry, but better than nothing) photo of me with her that I'll put on here at some point :]

She signed both her CDs for me, but Ellie couldn't find her copy of the only CD she has, so she got her to sign her iPod instead XDD to which Julia replied 'I have that iPod!' so she wrote 'we are twins' on the iPod :3

We were then gonna leave. We were so planning to leave. But we saw awesome ukuleles and I happened to mention that they were cheap (saw them in the music shops in guildford), which prompted me to ask how much they were. Which prompted us to... yeah. First ever truly impulse buy, I think.

And the weirdest impulse buy ever.

We bought ukuleles :]

While the shop assistant was tuning it, Julia was starting to leave and I was like "WAITWAIT -- can you please sign the ukuleles we're buying, in a minute?" and she just kinda looked pretty shocked for a second but then thought it was awesome and was all "Sure! :D"

(of course, she tried to write 'Dasha! Sweet uke ' but wrote 'Sweet y' and realised she was misspelling it, so she turned the y into a heart. So now it says 'Dasha! Sweet  Uke  -Julia Nunes' :) )

Is such a pretty ukulele. But I really need better strings; the ones I have aren't too good. They're okay, but... They also keep going out of tune, but I figure that's cos they're new.

We got so many weird looks on the train home. Playing ukuleles. =P

Oh yeah, and after we left the shop, we were waiting at the street corner while Ellie called her parents to ask for directions to the tube station (cos we didn't know how we'd gotten there, haha, we'd been directed by her dad), and Julia walked past us and said "Oh, bye guys!" and then we were like, aww, that's nice -- and then the way we had to go to get to the tube station was to walk right behind her for five minutes.

Was hoping she didn't think we were stalkers. XD

The reason, by the way, that whenever I do anything like this, I post a full account of it, is because I don't wanna forget it :] It was an awesome day. Really, really full of awesome. And I'm so happy that I bought my ukulele <3

Though, now he/she needs a name... and a gender... hmm.

The show was only like 20 minutes long, but I don't care; it was awesome. (Obviously) VERY different from the BFS gig, but not in a bad way. It was a lot shorter, but I got to talk to Julia for a while and stuff, cos it was much less crowded. I liked both experiences. :D

Aaah. I'm so happy.

(In the shop, I was shaking a lot. Dunno why. XD When we were waiting for autographs, just after getting them, and also while our ukuleles were being boxed and stuff... it was odd)

That's all for today.

OOH. IT'S PAST MIDNIGHT. MEANING IN ENGLAND, IT'S :iconblacklightamongstars:'S BIRTHDAY. GO WISH HER HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW HER. SHE MAY BE A LITTLE CREEPED OUT... BUT OH WELL <3 SHE DESERVES AWESOMENESS.

She was surprisingly tolerant of all the signings =) if I was signing an iPod, I'd be worried I'd get it wrong and it wouldn't look nice, but it sounds like it all went okay 8D

BUT HOW FAR MUST THEY GO TO REACH THEIR GOAL?!?!?!?
:iconsparkehrocks:
Yup, it did :D (Not that ellie would really care if it went wrong. It's -julia nunes-, after all XDD)

She signed another iPod at that event too. :]

I think she's probably really tolerant cos she's new to the whole thing (she got popular through youtube and all her CDs and stuff are shipped by her sister and her mum) and also, there weren't many people there xD She just seemed to find it awesome, didn't look like she minded at all 8D
