[Ignore the title...Just read Looking for Alaska a few days ago and couldn't think of a title xD]

Umm, so, a few updates I guess...None of them particularly interesting, but there we go. This may be very long, by the way xD

School

I started school again >_< Year 10 now, blimey XD Triple Science, Media, French, Geography, and of course your standard Maths, English, ICT, RE, PE.

Wahhh. we have coursework now T_T Started an English coursework thingy, which is an autobiographical piece of writing about two childhood memories, in which case it would be useful if I could actually remember anything from my childhood. Sigh.

Besides that, (that I know of) we only have Media, French and Geography(ish? I think?) coursework. Or maybe ICT/RE, haven't had those yet. Argh. That doesn't help, that's most of my subjects XD French coursework won't be too bad, as I'm actually starting to like French, and I'm okay at it.

It was funny, as we were walking into the classroom Mrs Higgins was assigning us places, and all the girls walked in first (just the order in which they arrived) and she was placing them all two seats apart, to put a boy in between them, except for my row, where she put myself and three of my friends (all female).

Everyone was outraged of course, but we were just like "HAH." My row is the same as last year with one replacement, I think it's cos we got the highest grades last year and we work well together or something? (I definitely worked better after I got moved next to my friends compared to before.)

I HAVE SO MUCH SCIENCE. *dies* It's not bad. But still. SO MUCH OF IT... At least it's all very different now - it's actually interesting since I don't have the same teacher I've had for two years now who CANNOT TEACH :D

Ocarina

I posted a journal almost a month ago saying how I want to learn the ocarina. I now *have* an ocarina. :D

I did a LOT of research on the internet beforehand, as good ones are quite expensive, and it's always good to know what you're buying. But I'm definitely happy with my choice(it's a 12-hole Alto C, if anyone knows anything about ocarinas) and it has such a beautiful tone <3

It's also ridiculously easy to learn and figure out stuff by ear on. Which is helpful if you're not good at stuff, like me :D

Jenny
Some of you may know that I have two cats, Jenny and her daughter Mimi (We have Mimi since our old cat, Tabby, ran away about four months ago). Last week, we thought Jenny had run away since we hadn't seen her for two days and she very very rarely leaves the house, and she never leaves Mimi on her own for a long time. We got really upset, but she came back. I am so, so happy that she came back.

And then it went a bit downhill...
After she came back, she was really lethargic, actually hissing at and attacking Mimi, hissing at us when we tried to pick her up, so we took her to the vet (got her microchipped while we were at it). Turned out she had two ulcers, one in her mouth and one on her foot. Which is bad, of course, but she had a 48-hour antibiotic injection and then another one two days later. After the first one, she was also given painkillers, and she felt better, she was even licking Mimi again, she was eating.

After the second one (admittedly without painkillers), she got worse. Until we took her to the vet today, she hadn't moved since...Saturday, I think. She hadn't moved from the place that she was sleeping...that we know of, anyway. Therefore, no food, no drink - she also got annoyed when we tried to pick her up. We got really worried and managed to get her to the vet today - she's lost a quarter of a kilogram since Friday, and she was so dehydrated she could hardly stand.

She's been hospitalised. They're giving her morphine and blood tests in case of organ failure and they're giving her IV fluids.
I'm really freaking out about this, I've been really calm (or trying to be, anyway) but I'm so so worried. After I thought she ran away, that was awful, but then we got her back. THEN, she started being all moody and stuff, so I was even more worried, but we got her back, she felt better; I felt so incredibly lucky, that we thought we'd lost her or were losing her twice, and both times it turned out to be okay.

If, after all that... I can't even think about it. If anything happens... That'd be our second cat this year. I can't even think about it. No way. I know it seems like I'm overreacting, but we've lost four cats now, and I love my cats like they're members of my family, and I couldn't bear to lose another one.

Topic over.

Books!

Haha, slightly more cheerful topic now :D

I'm aiming for having read 20 new books by the end of the year, which admittedly is expensive. I have more than that in total on my book list (that is, including ones that I PLAN to read) but it's always nice to have more :3 So uh...if anyone has any ideas for books that I should read, that'd be awesome :glomp:

I think I have 17 new ones so far this year: The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, The Supernaturalist, Inkspell, Breaking Dawn, The Host, Pilgrims of Rayne, Artemis Fowl and The Time Paradox, The Thief Lord, Tithe, Once Upon A Time In The North, Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, An Abundance of Katherines and Looking for Alaska.

Wow. That's a good number of books, I think XD

I recently read Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines, both by John Green - at first, I only knew about him and his brother from their YouTube account (they have like, 334ish videos, all vlogs xD They're AWESOME) - incidentally, anyone here a fan of them? I'd always planned to read both of John's books, but now that I have...I have a newfound awe of him. I love Katherines and Alaska so much :D And I plan to get Paper Towns when it comes out.

Alaska is actually one of my favourite books now. It's actually being taught in a lot of schools now I think xD It nearly made me cry at one point O_O also, it's funny XD

Ummm....What else? XD
that's it, I think. O_O

Sorry this is so long! And well done if you got this far. Have a :cookie: :3

OH OH OH OH OH! JUST REMEMBERED!
SPORE!

It's awesome  But this is long enough and I can't be bothered to ramble about it now :P

(Aww man...Mimi just meowed at me so I picked her up and she started purring :( she misses her mother... She NEVER meows.)

"due to recent cutbacks, and until further notice, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off. we apologise for any inconvenience"

"I am NOT a fav whore, I just like art DAMMIT!!!"
no coursework in any of the Sciences (well, ISAs...I guess...but I don't count them XD) or PE or Maths. So y'know, only 6 out of 11 of my lessons have coursework...depending on how you count them... :D

I hope my kitty gets better too D: Let's hope the vets at Woking are good x] (that's where they're sending her)

Twilight is goood, it has its flaws but I do like it very much :D I just finished having a massive discussion about it with two of my friends XD It's a very love/hate thing actually, I think it has about as many haters as it does people who love it :P
If you had told me you could have borrowed His Dark Materials and saved some money XD

And Ocarinas... are they Ocarinas of TIME?
We already had the first book...and it never hurts to have new books (especially when i'm not the one paying for them :P) XDD
But thanks for the offer! :glomp:

Haha, my one is blue at least =P Doesn't have the Triforce though. And it's a 12-hole not a 9-hole. XDD
(They DO sell Ocarinas of Time. Not as good quality as mine though. They also sell Fairy Ocarinas.)
It shows how varied ocarinas can become if they sell themed ones as one of the only varieties O_O
OCARINA!
Ahaha, you lucky DX I don't work *that* great with my friends XDD I work great with you in French, though! :glomp: 8D
BOOKS! I have a bunch of books I want to read XDD My English teacher was giving us lots of recommendations
